Client: Harry Levy Amusements
The Background:
A leading manufacturer of amusements and arcade games, Harry Levy Amusements looked to Caspian to extend a classic arcade game - The Crane.
They wished to add a little more fun, and calories, to the game by allowing players to win either toys or their favourite chocolate bars.
The Problem:
Chocolate melts!
The chocolate left in the machine needed to be kept cool. This had to be achieved in a place where space was tight and the resulting product had to remain hidden.
The Process:
The Crane required a complete air conditioning system in one, rather than the traditional two part systems often used, and this complete system had to be small. Caspian first prototyped and then went on to build an air-conditioned cassette that could slide into the small area under the toys and chocolate. The refrigerated unit was temperature controlled to ensure that, while the air conditioning kept the chocolate cool, it worked with the outside air temperature and didn't continue cooling in cold weather, therefore freezing the chocolate.
The End Product:
A small cassette, which sits in the crane cabinet - completely out of sight. The unit gently blows refrigerated air over the displayed chocolate keeping it at a temperature for maximum mmmmm factor!
